About Back Porch Swing

Back Porch Swing was formed in Richmond five years ago and performs locally in various configurations as events require.

Players: Liz Nance, Vocals; Russell Lawson, Guitar and Vocals; and including, occasionally, Elaine Mandaleris, Vocals; David Berry, Guitar and Viola; Cy Taggart, Guitar, Mandolin, Slide Guitar and Vocals.

Liz hails from Winchester, Virginia, attended school in Richmond and North Carolina. She works in public relations and communications. She and her family live in the Fan.

Russell was born in Charleston, S.C., moved to Richmond as a child and attended school in the city. He works in marketing and lives with his family in the "fashionable" west end.

Russell

Dave was raised right here in Richmond and was educated here, too. Dave has his own accounting business. He and his wife, Brenda, live "west of the Boulevard."

Cy Taggart is a Chicago native, with a Bachelor's in Music and twenty years leading high school choirs, conducting and arranging for various school music programs and playing in bands. He lives in Chesterfield with his wife, Connie, and two children.
